Understanding Differences in Results: UserWay's Pro Widget vs. UserWay's Accessibility Monitor

There are a couple of common scenarios that could lead to differences in scan results between the Pro Widget and the Accessibility Monitor

Updated over 4 months ago

Scenario A: Different Pages Scanned

One of the most common reasons for discrepancies is that the Widget and the Accessibility Monitor may not be analyzing the same pages:

  • Widget-Specific Report: The Widget report is based only on the pages where the Pro Widget has loaded. The widget embed code should be configured to be loaded on all the pages scanned by the Accessibility monitor, this could result in fewer detected violations.

  • Accessibility Monitor Report: The Accessibility Monitor offers 3 types of reporting.

    • Accessibility Monitor dashboard view.

    • Downloadable report with ONLY violations that the widget doesn't remediate.

    • Downloadable report of ALL violations.

      • The Accessibility Reports are based on the specific pages that are scanned. (This is often not the entire website) and can cause a discrepancy between the Widget and Accessibility Monitor.

Scenario B: Same Pages Scanned

If both the Widget and the scanner cover the same pages but discrepancies still exist, further investigation is needed:
