How to Upload and Remediate PDF Files Using the UserWay Dashboard

Learn how to upload PDF files, request remediation quotes, and submit inaccessible PDFs for accessibility remediation through the UserWay Dashboard.

You can use the UserWay Dashboard to upload PDF files, request an accessibility remediation quote, and submit inaccessible PDFs for remediation. You can either upload a PDF directly from your computer or select PDF files detected by the UserWay Widget.

⚠️ Important: PDF detection is available only for websites using the Pro version of the UserWay Widget. The widget can detect PDF files only on pages that have been visited after the widget has been installed.

Upload a PDF from Your Computer

  1. Sign in to the UserWay Dashboard at https://manage.userway.org using an administrator account.

  2. Select Documents & PDFs from the left navigation menu.

  3. Select Drag PDF Files Here or Upload From Your Computer.

  4. Choose the PDF file from your device, Select Submit for Processing.

  5. Review the quote and remediation summary.

  6. Select Pay $XX to complete payment and begin the remediation process.

Submit Widget-Detected PDFs for Remediation

  1. Sign in to the UserWay Dashboard at https://manage.userway.org using an administrator account.

  2. Select the domain where you want to view detected PDF files.

  3. Select the checkbox for each PDF file you want to remediate, Select Remediate Selected PDFs.

  4. Review the quote and remediation summary. Select Pay $XX to complete payment and begin the remediation process.

ℹ️ Note: Once a PDF has been detected by the UserWay Widget, it remains in the detected PDFs list even if the file is later removed from the website or is no longer accessible from any page.

If the detected PDFs list needs to be cleared, contact UserWay Support. Support can reset the entire detected PDFs list for a domain but cannot remove individual PDF files from the list.

Expected Result

The selected PDF files are submitted for accessibility remediation. Once payment is successfully completed, our PDF remediation team manually reviews and remediates the files. This process may take 8–12 business days.

Once the work is complete, you’ll receive an email notification with a copy of the remediated files and instructions on how to access and use them.
