How to Add UserWay's Accessibility Monitor to Your Safelist (Whitelist)

Some environments only allow traffic from approved sources — for example, specific static IPs, request headers, or user-agents. If your site is protected this way, Accessibility Monitor may be blocked before it can scan.

To let the scanner through, you can use any one of the three methods below. Pick whichever best fits how your security or firewall is configured.

💡 Which should I use? If you filter by IP address, use Method 1. If you filter by user-agent, use Method 2. If you filter by custom request headers, use Method 3. You only need one.

Method 1: Select a Static IP per Domain

Use this when your firewall or allowlist is based on IP address.

  1. Access the Dashboard: Open your browser, go to the Accessibility Monitor Dashboard, and log in with your UserWay credentials.

  2. Open Site Settings: In the left-hand menu, select "Site Settings."

  3. Select a Static IP: Find the domain you want to configure, then choose one of the static IPs below (based on your preferred region).

  4. Safelist the IP on your end: Add the chosen IP to your firewall/allowlist. Accessibility Monitor will then use this IP for all ongoing scans of that domain.

🇨🇦 Canada

🇬🇧 United Kingdom

📝 Note: Static IPs are only used when scanning websites that have already been added to Accessibility Monitor. The New Scan process, which is used to add and index new websites, currently uses dynamic IPs. At this time, there is no option to use a static IP for new scans.

Method 2: Safelist the User-Agent

Use this when your security settings filter by user-agent. Allow the scanner by safelisting both of these user-agent strings:

Device

User-Agent string

🖥️ Desktop

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_3) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/80.0.3987.132 Safari/537.36 UserWay/Scanner

📱 Mobile

Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 11_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/604.1.38 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/11.0 Mobile/15A372 Safari/604.1 UserWay/Scanner

Method 3: Safelist the Request Header

Use this when you filter by custom request headers. Safelist connections that include the following header:

Header

Value

x-userway-req-ctx
