The UserWay Pro widget can identify and remediate color contrast issues that may not meet WCAG requirements. Automatic color contrast remediation is disabled by default to avoid unexpected changes to your website's design.

⚠️ Important: Automatic color contrast remediation is available only with the UserWay Pro widget and higher.

Turn Automatic Color Contrast Fixes On or Off

Open your website, click Manage, and sign in to your UserWay account.

Then open the Remediation options on Remediations for Review.

Turn Automatically fix contrast violations on or off.

3. Then open the Remediation options on Remediations for Review.

ℹ️ Note: When automatic remediation is enabled, changes are applied after the page finishes loading because remediations are applied to the website's DOM after the page is fully rendered.

Manually Adjust Color Contrast for Specific Elements

Click Accept to apply the suggested contrast fix for an element:

Click Edit to choose a custom color.

Review the displayed WCAG compliance result, such as Pass AA or Fail AA.

Click the T icon to highlight affected elements on the page.

ℹ️ Note: Some elements may not appear highlighted due to the website's structure. The editor reads element information directly from the page's DOM, which can affect how highlighting is displayed.

Yes. Click Undo all fixes to remove all applied color contrast remediations.

Can I undo all applied color contrast fixes?

No. Currently, the widget does not support undoing an individual color contrast change on a specific element.

Automatic color contrast remediation can be enabled or disabled for your website, and individual color contrast issues can be reviewed and remediated to help meet WCAG contrast requirements.
