Why don't my Google Analytics and UserWay pageviews match?

Total monthly page views are an important metric for UserWay. Customers occasionally reach out to support asking to review their page views. Hopefully, this will help clarify why Google Analytics and UserWay's page view counts may vary.

Google Analytics calculates the number of "pageview" events sent, which can vary by website, depending on how the Google Analytics script is implemented. Google Analytics does not include requests from bots, search engines, scanners, etc. Additionally, Google Analytics does not send events in non-cookie environments such as incognito mode, or when visitors do not accept analytics tracking.

UserWay statistics count each request to UserWay's CDN. UserWay doesn't count page views. UserWay counts how many times UserWay assets are being loaded from our CDN, i.e., when the UserWay script is loaded.
