Configuring the Live Translation Add-on Button in the UserWay Dashboard

The Live Site Translations add-on helps make your website more accessible to a global audience by allowing visitors to instantly switch between the available languages on your site.

You can display a dedicated Translation Button above your accessibility widget or choose to show only the Translation Button for a cleaner interface. This feature improves the browsing experience for multilingual visitors and makes language selection quick and intuitive.

Note:

  • An active Live Site Translations subscription is required to enable this feature.

  • Live Site Translations is included with the Pro Plus plan.

  • The Pro plan does not include Live Site Translations.

  1. Sign in to the UserWay Dashboard: Go to https://manage.userway.org and sign in using your UserWay account credentials:

  2. Open Your Website: From the left-hand menu, click My Sites, then select the website you want to configure by clicking on its name:

  3. Open the Customize Tab: Click the Customize tab to access the widget customization settings:

  4. Enable the Translation Button: Scroll down to the Live Site Translations Buttons section and enable the Enable Live Site Translation button toggle:

After each change, please make sure to save the changes so they are reflected on the widget installed on the website:

Customize the Translation Button (Optional)

After enabling the Translation Button, you can customize how it appears on your website. You can choose to display it below the default accessibility icon or show only the Translation Button. Below, you can find more details about each available option:

  • Use Translation Button as Default: Replaces the default accessibility widget icon with the Translation Button. Visitors can still access both the Accessibility Widget and the Live Site Translations menu from the same button:

  • Position Translation Button Above: Displays a separate Translation Button directly above the accessibility widget, allowing visitors to access language selection while keeping the default widget icon visible:
