To avoid issues, it's necessary to ensure that the lang= attribute of your website conforms to the ISO 639-1 standard. For example, here's a list of languages that have multiple accents or regions:

  • English (US/UK/Australia)

    • en-US: United States of America

    • en-GB: United Kingdom

    • en-AU: Australia

  • Spanish (Spain/Mexico)

    • es: Spain

    • es-MX: Mexico

  • Portuguese (Portugal/Brazil)

    • pt: Portugal

    • pt-BR: Brazil
