How to Change the Widget Icon Position Using the Dashboard?

The UserWay Dashboard lets you control exactly where the accessibility widget button appears on your site. You can set separate positions for desktop and mobile views, choosing from the available placements — and, if you need extra precision, fine-tune the exact location down to the pixel. Follow the steps below.

  1. Access the UserWay Dashboard: Open your web browser, go to https://manage.userway.org, and log in with your UserWay credentials.

  2. Open your site: In the left-hand menu, click My Sites. Then, from the list of sites on the right, click the name of the site whose widget position you want to change:

  3. Open the Customize tab: When the new window appears, click the Customize tab:

  4. Set the desktop position: Under the Button Location Desktop tab, choose where the widget should appear on desktop screens:

  5. Set the mobile position: Switch to the Button Location Mobile tab and choose where the widget should appear on mobile devices:

  6. Save your changes: Click Save to apply the changes:

About "Enable exact button positioning"

By default, the widget snaps to one of the preset positions (corners, sides, etc.). When you turn on Enable exact button positioning, you gain precise, pixel-level control over exactly where the button sits:

How it works:

  • After choosing a base position, you can nudge the button using pixel values for both axes — horizontally (To the right / To the left) and vertically (Higher / Lower).

  • The permitted range is 5–500 px.

Important: the minimum value is 5 px, which effectively acts as zero — meaning the button stays flush at the base position with no offset. There is no lower value than 5, so use 5 whenever you want no additional spacing applied.

This gives you the flexibility to fine-tune placement so the widget doesn't overlap other on-screen elements (like chat buttons or cookie banners).
